On May 18, 2024 Ponoka RCMP received a report of potential stolen items being located at a rural residence. After a short investigation, on May 23, 2024, and May 24, 202,4 Ponoka RCMP executed search warrants at a rural property on Morning Meadow Drive in Ponoka County.

As a result of the search, RCMP have seized several confirmed stolen items from various residential and commercial Break and Enters in the area, additionally, RCMP have seized a large amount of copper wire, and other items which police believe are also stolen. Items recovered include:

  • trailers;
  • a quad;
  • multiple construction tools including saws, welders ;
  • full tools boxes;
  • household effects;
  • bicycles;
  • pressure washers;
  • snow blowers and ;
  • other miscellaneous property.

The total value of the items recovered is in excess of $100,000

RCMP have arrested and charged Ponoka County residents Justin Gamble (25), and Jayden Elizabeth Kraft (25) with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 (x4);
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 (x6);
  • Alter vehicle identification number (x2).

Both Gamble and Kraft were taken before a justice of the peace and released with their next court date set for June 21, 2024 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Ponoka.
