On Dec. 23, 2023, Olds RCMP responded to a call of shoplifting at a business on 46 Street in Olds. While en-route, RCMP were updated that one suspect had left in a vehicle, and another remained inside the store.

Olds RCMP, with the assistance from Didsbury RCMP conducted queries on the vehicle, which showed the license plate as stolen. RCMP conducted a roadside stop on the vehicle, and arrested the male driver without incident. The second suspect was located exiting the store and was subsequently arrested.

Search of the suspects vehicle revealed the following property:

  • A large quantity of products determined stolen from multiple businesses totaling approximately $7,000
  • A stolen licence plate
  • Stolen driver licence
  • Multiple folding knives
  • Approximately 10g of suspected Methamphetamine

As a result of the investigation, Brandon Ross Keller (32), resident of Vulcan, was charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Possession of Property obtained by crime under $5,000 (x2)
  • Theft over $5000 – Shoplifting
  • Fail to comply

Paige Ashlee (19), resident of Cochrane, was charged with: 

  • Theft over $5000 – Shoplifting
  • Possession of a controlled substance

Both accused were released and are set to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Disbury on Feb. 26, 2024.
