On Oct. 29, 2023, at approximately 3:25 p.m., Wetaskiwin RCMP were dispatched to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 13, just west of Highway 2, in Wetaskiwin. A pick-up truck was, pulling a large trailer hauling farm equipment was traveling North bound on Range Road 262, approaching Highway 13.
The pick-up truck was unable to stop and slid on the icy roadway at the intersection of Highway 13 into the East Bound lanes. An East-bound vehicle, occupied by a lone male driver collided with the trailer of farm equipment. The male was airlifted to Edmonton hospital with life threatening injuries. The driver of the truck and trailer did not sustain any injuries.
Wetaskiwin RCMP advise this investigation is ongoing and no further updates are anticipated.
