Wetaskiwin RMCP are investigating 3 separate suspicious fires that occurrence in Wetaskiwin the last 24 hours.

On Nov. 19, 2023, at 5:21 p.m., Wetaskiwin RCMP responded to a fire in a vacant shed on 45 avenue and 57 street.

On Nov. 19, 2023, at 10:03 p.m., Wetaskiwin RCMP responded to a fire to a detached garage on 50 avenue and 54 street.

On Nov. 20, 2023, at 4:32 a.m., Wetaskiwin RCMP received a report of a to a vacant commercial building on 49 avenue and 55 street. The building is complete loss.

While very early in the investigations, based on the proximity of these fires to one an other and the relative short time frame between fires, RCMP believe that all three fires are suspicious and potentially related to the same suspect(s).

The Wetaskiwin General Investigative Section has been deployed to assist with these serious crimes and we are asking for public assistance.
