Wetaskiwin RCMP would like to inform the public that Highway 2 Southbound, South of Township Road 455, has now reopened. Alberta RCMP would like to take this occasion to remind the public to please drive to the conditions of the road, reduce your speeds when roads are icy and be aware of those around you.

Wetaskiwin RCMP are currently on scene of a multi vehicle collision on Highway 2 Southbound, near the Bear Hills Rest Area, South of Township Road 455. Highway 2 Southbound will be closed while police respond and roads are cleared. There will be a detour route set up via Township Road 455. No fatalities or major injuries have been reported at this time. The public is asked to avoid the area if possible and please drive to the conditions of the roads.
An update is anticipated once the highway is reopened.
