The Red Deer and District Chamber of Commerce Task Force on Homelessness is seeking public feedback on the interim "What We Heard" report.

The report highlights the task force’s findings collected over eight months from sources such as interviews, facility tours, and community conversations.

The task force found six overarching themes through their research, including:

  • Housing is a business and economic development issues

  • Community understanding of homelessness

  • It’s hard to go home when there is no home to go to

  • Collaborative fragmentation

  • Bureaucratization of homelessness

  • Conflicting civic priorities

"We've received numerous thoughtful and detailed responses to the interim report so far," Lyn Radford, Task Force Chair said. "We want to ensure that the report and subsequent recommendations are as comprehensive and accurate as possible. Therefore, we invite all Red Deerians to provide their input so that we can address this complex issue effectively. Don't miss this opportunity to contribute to positive change in our community."

Red Deerians can provide their feedback on the report until Feb. 16, on the Chamber’s website here.
